Learn How to Install Qt 6 Offline on Your Platform of Choice
Qt Creator 10.0.2 is released and it is available via Qt online installer. If you need a standalone installer, please select the file according to your operating system from the list below to get the latest Qt Creator for your computer.
I downloaded the .exe installer from download.qt.io but it asks me to login to continue to install. I recall there is a skip button on the installation window to bypass the login in the past Qt releases. Does not Qt 5.12.11 allow to install without an account? I disconnect the network connection but the skip button never appears.

You could use the old "qt-unified-online-installer", where you still couldskip the login, to install a newer Qt version! The latest installer version, where this is possible (as far as I know) is the version 2.0.5-2.
Unfortunately, Qt.io, in their wisdom, decided to remove the Windows and MacOS online installers from their download mirrors, but at least a slightly older version for Windows can still be found via Google, search for "qt-unified-windows-x86-2.0.2-online.exe".Here's a link for direct download that I've found (06/2023), but I didn't test it on Windows!
Now run the installer, skip the login, and when you are on the "Welcome" page, press "Settings" and go to the "Repositories" tab.Disable all "Default repositories" and select "User defined repositories"(must be selected!!).Then press the "Add" button to add your own Qt repositories, dependingon what version you want to install, e.g. for Qt 5.15.2 on Linux, add thesefive Linux repositories:
Then press "OK", repeat skipping the login page and press "Next", now the installer should load all data needed to install the newer Qt version, and you are able to select what package you want to install. :-)
The Qt Creator installer is also available at the official download page. Good news that installer does not require Qt Account (yet?). Actually, it does, but only if it discovers internet connection - it that case the first installer view looks like this at the moment:
I don't want to speculate whether this is intentional (given restructuring of the business model from Qt Company's side) or not (poor web design skills...) but I find it increasingly difficult to download the open source version (the online installer in particular) from Let me elaborate on the matter. I do not want to buy it. I am working with either GPL or LGPL non-commercial open source software.
We then land on a page where several options are listed - Design Tools, Development Tools, The Framework and Supported Platforms. Since I just want to download the framework I go for the Development tools (due to its description).
It might be just me and a couple of friends of mine. The design of the web site was not the best before but I needed just a few seconds to click here and there to end up with a started download of the installer. I don't think this is a good way to promote your product. Then again I haven't tried the BUY option. If the same situation is there, I would say they need to hire new web designers. If it is better, it means they are actively obfuscating the access to the product for people, who are not willing to pay the now pretty steep annual licensing fee. If it is worse, they need to hire better marketing personnel.
Qt Designer is available on PyPi via the pyqt5-tools package. This can be pip installed just like any other Python package. This wrapper will download and install Qt Designer for you and provide a command-line launcher to start the program.
Qt Designer is available in the installation packages for Qt available from the Qt downloads page. Download and run the appropriate installer for your system and follow the platform-specific instructions below. Installing Qt Designer will not affect your Python PyQt5/6 or PySide2/6 installation.
Qt Designer is not mentioned in the Windows Qt installer, but is automatically installed when you install any version of the Qt core libraries. For example, in the following screenshot we've opted to install the MSVC 2017 64-bit version of Qt -- what you choose will have no effect on your Designer install.
Qt Designer is not mentioned in the macOS Qt installer, but is automatically installed when you install any version of the Qt core libraries. Download the installer from the Qt website -- you can opt for the open source version.
Then execute fbs installer. On Windows, you need to install NSIS first and place it on your PATH. On Linux, you need fpm. But once you have these prerequisites, fbs will magically create your installer. Congratulations!
Qt Designer normally ships as a part of Qt Creator. This is Qt's official editor and lets you do a lot more than just graphically design user interfaces. It is a full-fledged and very powerful C++ IDE. This power comes ata price however: The download for Qt Creator is gigabytes insize!
This page was created for people who only need Qt Designer. The download links here contain minimal, self-containedinstallers of just Qt Designer that are orders of magnitudesmaller. Here they are again:
Download the Qt installer from its official download site at -qt-installer.The site should detect that your computer is running linux and recommend "Qt Online Installer for linux". Click the green "Download" button to download the installer.
The downloaded installer is named something like qt-unified-linux-x64-version-online.run and is likely located in your /Downloads directory. Use chmod +x qt*.run to make the file executable, then run it by typing ./qt*.run.
The Qt installer will walk you through a set of steps. For most steps, you can use the default settings and simply click "Next" or "Agree" to move on, with the following exceptions:
Note: if your installer does not offer the option shown above, stop here. Your system is going to require a non-standard install. Contact the staff with your system information and we'll see if we can help. Depending on how esoteric your situation, this may not be successful. We recommend a backup plan to use a different computer or work on a campus cluster computer.
When trying to open a program that requires Qt6, it gives error while loading shared libraries: libQt6Network.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory. I tried installing Qt6 by going to the Qt website -> Downloads for open source users -> Download the Qt Online Installer -> Qt Online Installer for Linux (64-bit), then in the installer itself I selected "Qt 6.2 for desktop development". After it'd finished installing I restarted and tried to open the program again, and it still gave the same error. I'd also seen sudo apt install qt6-base-dev be suggested so I tried that, but that just gives the error Unable to locate package qt6-base-dev, so now I'm not sure what else I could try.
On the 5.12.9 installer's Welcome screen, if you click on Settings, you can configure a proxy. I just gave it a non-existent IP/port. It eventually gave up and let me proceed without entering account info.
But you need to install Qt, not just get those packages. Download the Qt online installer, chose a Qt library version and install it. It is correctly installed if you see the Qt creator in the Start menu.To double-check, you can try to build an example project from the Welcome screen.

We will download from the following link Qt 5.14.1 for Linux 64-bit (1.2 GB) (Right click and Save link as). Alternatively, you can download files from the terminal using wget application. So, copy the download link and give it to the wget:
The QuickTime web browser plug-in is no longer installed by default and is removed if you have a previous version of QuickTime on your PC. If you still need this legacy plug-in, you can add it back using the custom setup option in the installer.
Ubuntu Desktop Linux is one of the most widely used Linux distributions for desktop use and version 22.04.1 was the most recent long term support (LTS) version at the time of writing. While you can download pre-compiled Qt 6.4.0 binaries using the Qt Maintenance Tool, you may want to build it from source for a number of reasons:
If you use Qt under LPGLv3, you will not have access to the offline installer starting with Qt 5.15. The offline installer will only be available for commercial users. The online installer will still be available, but it requires a Qt account. The only way to get your hands on Qt without an account is to download the sources and build Qt from sources.
As an embedded Qt developer, you probably use the offline installer regularly to install yet another Qt version on your Linux development PC. This allows you to start developing your Qt application very quickly on the PC and to find out which Qt version fixes a bug. 2b4c41e320
